| News from Piet & Gig in Hannover: |
|
Hi Everybody! Long time without any update... Since
we don't want to be smashed by Graptor's Hammer, it's
about time to keep you informed.
I have been quite busy
with recordings. In September I started to record the
new Paragon album, which by now is almost done. Again
it turned out to be a straight forward HM album with
some really cool songs. Again the band has improved their
skills, which makes the latest output even better than
the previous ones. So check out your record dealer in
springtime next year!
In summer I have been doing the
mix and the mastering for a band from South America.
Their name is Hibria and I must say that I really like
their stuff. Killer guitarwork and a very outstanding
vocalist are one two of the things I really like about
them. The album is on sale now, so check them out!
Between
Paragon and rehersals for IS I have been recording drums
with Black Majesty (from Australia). It has been a fun
session. The guys are cool, the band is cool and the
music is cool. So check them out as well. Also in between
I turned 40. I am a truly old and ugly bastard by now...
My elder daughter turned 10.
Butch (my dog) will turn
14 years in January!!! But still he is in perfect shape,
feeling well an being truly alive. All of you keep your
fingers crossed big time, that he will have many more
years to come!
Also in January I will start to work on
the 3rd Gun Barrel album. I will do this production together
with Yenz.
Yesterday
we played in Hannover together with Destruction. I really
enjoyed this show! Unfortunately I had to leave right
after the show to go back to Hamburg by train, because
today it's the birthday-party of my daughter.. and didn't
want to be a completely wasted... So sorry for those
of you who where waiting for a little chat or some autographs,
but I really had to go... next time!
Within the next 2
weeks Harald will bring the entire IS story so far written
in one peace to the homepage. So stay tuned... Note
from Harald:
already done Piet! ;-)
Alright folks, that's it
for today. All the best to you and HM is the law! |

| Piet's "All inclusive
and totally free trip": |
Hi Folks!
Just got back from my "all inclusive and totaly free" trip (as NOISE calls
it..) around Europe and Germany. Even though it has been a really hard trip
with lots and lots of talking, getting up early, hanging out in hotels, planes,
trains, busses and taxis it also has made me feel really good to find out,
that so many people are interested in what we are doing. The best part of course
is, that they also like what we are doing... No kidding, the reactions have
been realy cool so far. So keep your fingers crossed, that Battering Ram will
kick-in like it looks right now.
I started out in Spain, Barcelona where it RAINED!! Can you believe this? Rain
in May, where it's suppoesed to be hot and sunny. So I left my shorts in the
suitcase and instead of taking a little sunbath in the morning I slept a bit
longer to start the first interview at 10 a.m. and to finish at 10 p.m. ...
with a smoking head! Next stop was Italy, Milano where the weather was a little
bit better, but since I arrived quite late I had to start talking right away...
so again no sunbathing for poor Piet. The next day I had to get up realy early
to catch my connection flight to France, Paris.

Taken out of Piet's car in France
After creeping out of bed at 4:30
am in the morning I found out while I was already on
the way to the airport, that my flight will not leave
at 7:20 like it said in my travel-infos... I was booked
for 8:20!! So instead of spending one more hour in bed
I found myself on the airport waiting for the airlinecounter
to open up... you may imagine, that I wasn't too amused
about that.
Somehow I managed to sleep at the gate and in the plane so I wasn't
too tired when I met the media in Paris. Again a full day of talking...

"Condition Pink Part I" for Piet in the hotel room in Mailand, Italy

"Condition Pink Part II", Mailand, Italy

View out of Piet's hotel room in Mailand, Italy
Next morning again an early start
at 6 am in the morning at least not 4:30!! I flew to
Cologne, did some interviews, took the train to Bochum
and after more interviews flew to Munich where at the
hotel I pretty much collapsed after dinner. Slept like
a baby and in the morning I could use the "wellness" stuff
like sauna and pool. How cool!! After doing a couple
of interviews in the lobby caught the train to Stuttgart
where I finished up the day and finaly arrived back in
Hamburg at 10.30 pm.

Yenz who joined Piet to his trip to Berlin
But that wasn't all... after the weekend
I had to move out again. This time I took Yenz with me
to support me what was a brilliant idea! Only 50% of
the interviews for me... We rented a nice and fast car
(check the pics!) and made it to Berlin in less than
2 1/2 hours... door to door.

Good combination: M&M (Metal & Mercedes)

Piet driving to Berlin
It's 300 KM to Berlin and both cities
are not too small... we have been really fast. After
spending the day at the NOISE office and doing basicly
phone interviews with all the bigger medias I couln't
talk to face-to-face during my trip, we went to dinner
at 9:30 and later on hung out at the hotelbar where Yenz
intoduced me to some very interesting details of his
past in Denmark... especialy the most embarrasing moments.
I added mine.. but this conversation is another story.
Next day we made it back again in record time.
The following weeks will be filled with more "phoners" to the more distant regions
like USA, South America, Asia, Australia and the rest of the world... hot
ears included!

Piet on the phone in Munich
So enjoy the pictures, even though
they are not that interesting since I realy didn't find
the time to do cool shots.

| Promotion trip around Europe: |
On sunday I will leave for promotion around Europe. I
will travel to Barcelona, Milano, Paris, Dortmund, Munich
and Stuttgart to tell the metal world how great BATTERING
RAM is. Actualy, I really love it... the mix is finished
for over 6 weeks now and the disc still hasn't left my
car cd-player since (the only place where I listen to music
in private). So I don't have to lie when being asked about
the album on the promo-tour!
I'll try to take some pics with my digicam to bring back for all you folks. |

| New bass player Yenz Leonhardt officially
introduced: |
Today
I talked with Piet, he is still in the process of the
produktion of the upcoming release with the working
title Metalizer.
In December '03 Yenz Leonhardt joined the band on
bass, he has already co-written two songs together
with Thomas for the upcoming album. The album will
be out sometime in May. Sorry for not updating the page
so frequently as you had expected. On one hand the band
news was mainly Piet part and because of his productions
he did not find the time to keep it updated for you.
And for my part: "kick my
ass, stone me"! I got pretty lazy and have been in
hospital for about 2 1/2 months. Be sure to check the
website more frequently, I'm working on improving the
website in the next few months with a new design. |
